lyrics
"Derevtse" ("A Little Tree")
O'er there a storm cloud's sulking in the sky,
With a sullen gale it broke a little tree,
Tree tumbled down and embraced the grass,
Now there's no shady place for maidens' cheerful songs.
The bells are ringing their bitter song since dawn,
Under the pinewood cross the pit is damp and muggy,
And mournful maidens weep o'er that poor grave
And spill their teardrop-gems onto the ground.
No more daring thoughts in those restive locks,
No more fair sparkle of his words for centuries to come,
What were you thinking with your heated soul?
How could you think those thoughts as bold as brass?
Why haven't you, young fellow, stayed brave until the end?
For that now all the folk can see you on the wooden post
With swift whips dancing on your poor back
With salt of tears dripping down on the wounds.
Why haven't you, young fellow, waited till the summer?
Why haven't you cared to see your mother and your father?
What were you thinking with your heated soul?
How could you think those thoughts as dark as night?
No more daring thoughts in those restive locks,
No more fair sparkle of his eyes for centuries to come

It's hard to pick a favourite track. This is the only album i have so far deemed as "perfect", where every track, even the intro, is just a masterpiece in its own right. From the hard hitting Perturbator's Theme to the emotional title track, its 68 minutes of perfection. 10/10. connivingkhajiit
